Rocky Mountain Writer's Summit

The Rocky Mountain Writer's Summit is a place for authors to come to meet the people they will eventually hire to help edit, print, publish or market their book. The service providers will be educating the authors about nuances of their industry to help the authors ask the pertinent questions to help them become informed consumers. Innocent or ignorant mistakes in printing or misunderstanding expectations of a service provider can needlessly cost the authors thousands of dollars. The Rocky Mountain Writer's Summit is designed to prevent such errors and empower the authors to become educated consumers, spending their dollars more effectively and efficiently.
Publisher Books to Believe In originated the Rocky Mountain Writer's Summit, and has now partnered with over 20 service providers and published authors to achieve this goal. Also on site, the world premier book launch of "The Character of True Intimacy - finding the love of your life" featuring the real-life love story of Trista Sutter of The Bachelorette.

Writer's Summit Tip #20:
Sell books!
Don't give them away!!!
(especially to family)"
They'll understand...

Don't be guilted into giving your books away just because someone knows you. The only exception to this rule is if you have listed them by name in the dedication or acknowledgements.

This simple rule helps you avoid hurt feelings, lost profits and stress inside a family.

Go ahead, blame your publisher, if someone doesn't 'get it'!!!

If you start offering a 'family discount,' you'll be amazed at certain people's definition of family. Your first print run needs to be sold so that you can make the sales numbers you need to make to get your second printing. If you give all your books away (or more than you can afford to, you'll find yourself feeling resentful about the whole process. Avoid this by making a hard and fast rule: If their name isn't printed on the inside of your book, they pay the price printed on the outside of your book.

Writer's Summit Tip #36:

A speaking coach is a useful service for many authors, as publicly promoting an author's book is an important part of helping to get that book into the hands of readers.

Finding a good speaking coach can be a very cost-effective investment towards greater profits for an author, especially if, like many people, you have a fear of public speaking. The right coach can help an author thrive in front of audiences, turning the task of publicly speaking about their book into a joy.
